White Ribbon – Guide For Training and Action

For teachers, community leaders and focal points of youth organizations

WWSF is pleased to present you the White Ribbon School Guide FOR TRAINING AND ACTION – Let’s talk – for youth 12 to 18 years old. It offers a dozen of activities to teachers, community and youth leaders to address masculinity and femininity and introduce ideas of socialization for the elimination of gender-based violence.

Schools play a key role in learning how to live and work together and transmit values of equality, respect and goodwill between boys and girls. It encourages young people to think about the role of women and men in society, about mutual respect, and more broadly on eliminating discrimination.

The exercises include discussions, activities, writing and reading. Ideally, these exercises will complement one or more subjects taught in school.

By questioning the femininity and masculinity models in our societies, showing how to deconstruct a message, teachers will help students develop critical thinking skills and give them the tools to question the notion of gender equality needed to create peaceful societies.

WWSF appreciates receiving information about schools and associations that use the School Guide for Training and Action. Kindly send us an Email at contact(at)white-ribbon.ch informing us of your participation. We will then include you in our Partnership program of the Swiss White Ribbon Campaign.
