In Switzerland, one in five women is a victim of physical or sexual violence in her relationships. One woman in five, aged 20-60, declares to have been a victim of physical or sexual violence committed by her partner.

Violence against women causes more deaths and disabilities among women aged 15-44 than cancer, malaria, traffic accidents, and war.
